Dance with the Professionals

Welcome to Massachusetts Academy of Ballet

Massachusetts Academy of Ballet is a training school for students interested in pursuing a career in classical ballet. The classes are based on the Russian syllabus, a training method that has created some of the best ballet dancers in the world.

The Academy also has a program for non-professional students and adults who value the best quality ballet training and artistic education. Through discipline and a positive approach to the challenges inherent in classical dance, students studying classical ballet will develop the skills needed to excel in their academics as well as their artistic and professional programs. Every student who attends the Massachusetts Academy of Ballet, from child to adult, will receive the same high quality training.

MA BETA

In 2008, the Massachusetts Academy of Ballet Educational Training Association (MA BETA) was launched. The mission of this not-for-profit initiative is to educate residents of Holyoke and the surrounding communities about the art of classical ballet; to perform ballet at schools, senior centers and other community venues; to offer scholarships for the underprivileged and/or
under-funded students interested in studying classical ballet.  MA BETA has formed many collaborative partnerships with community institutions including the Wistariahurst Museum, the Holyoke Children’s Museum, the South Hadley Public Library, Westfield Arts on the Green, and the Holyoke Public Library.

Music for Ballet

Rose and Charles Flachs

A multifaceted CD of great music. Ideally suited for teaching or taking class, one of the few that follows the correct sequence of exercises at the barre and in the center with the right build up of tempos.
